This advanced 40-hour course provides an update and in-depth review of bloodstain pattern identification and analysis. Students learn to make more sophisticated interpretations of the bloodstain evidence encountered at the crime scene. Participation in the course also enhances the student's proficiency in documentation and reconstruction techniques and the correlation of  stains and patterns with body trauma. Students participate in hands-on projects applying skills learned with first-hand observation of results. Students will be provided actual case studies to enhance their confidence in reconstruction.

COURSE CONTENT •Major concerns of bloodstain pattern identification and analysis •Crime scene reconstruction •Legal aspects and requirements of bloodstain evidence • Case presentations •Practical exercises and projects with preparation of analytical report. Digital Cameras strongly suggested.
 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This course is designed for investigators, crime scene analysts/technicians, detectives and others who want to achieve a high level of expertise in bloodstain evidence analysis and be able to competently testify in court regarding more complex cases. This course meets membership requirements set by the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts and partial requirements for certification by the International Association for Identification.
 
PREREQUISITE Bloodstain Evidence 1 or its equivalent is a prerequisite and students must provide previous course dates, location and instructor’s name when registering.
